Don started as the Nursing Home Administrator on August 1, 2014. He comes to NRCC with 18 years of experience in long term care. Don is responsible for the overall operations of the center.
He began his career in long term care after serving 22 years in the Air Force where he earned his Master’s Degree in Health Administration. He managed centers in Texas, Montana and Minnesota.
Don and his wife Elaine have 5 children and 7 grandchildren and love living in a small town.
Susan Reyerson – Business Office Manager
Susan started as the Business Office Manager on January 2, 2013. Susan comes to NRCC with 18 years of experience in long term care. She works on payroll, Medicare, Medical Assistance, as well as other insurances. Susan runs every aspect of the Business Office, including accounts receivable for the entire facility. Penni Mueller – Social Services
Penni began her career in the Nursing Home industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant right after high school, working 10 years in Albert Lea while going to Austin Community College and Mankato State University.
She graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Penni then worked in Owatonna for 14 years in many capacities, Activity/Social Services Assistant, TMA, and Director of Social Services. She started at the NRCC in May of 2005.
Penni had always thought it would be a great place to work and now calls this area home. Her children attend the New Richland School District and she enjoys being able to work in the same area her children go to school in.
Kathy Flor – Activities Director
Kathy has been at New Richland Care Center for 30 years. She was hired at NRCC in November of 1980 as a CNA and worked both the evening and day shift full time. In 1989 Kathy began working in the Activities department and in 2003 became the Activities Director. Kathy is a member of S.W.A.P. (State Wide Activity Professionals) and RAPA (Regional Activity Professional Association).
Ginger Mountin – MDS Coordinator
Ginger has been in the Nursing field for 40 plus years. Her background is in hospitals, doctor’s office and nursing home with specialties in Geriatric Care. Currently, her role here at the New Richland Care Center is MDS Coordinator. The MDS coordinator accesses the whole resident and their needs to determine the individualized plan that will determines their daily rate. I’ve been certified by the AANAC which is the National Association of MDS Coordinators. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Sandra Nelson – Director of Nursing
Sandi Nelson is the Director of Nursing and has been at New Richland Care Center since August. Sandi has worked in long term care most of her career and has been in management positions for over 25 years. She grew up in southern Minnesota, so coming back to this area is like coming back home. Sandi and her nursing team are committed to providing quality, person-centered care for all residents.
Brad Hartin – Culinary Director
Brad Hartin started his new position as Culinary Director on October 16th, he comes here with thirty years of experience in the Food Service industry working in Management, Product Development and Training with Perkins Family Restaurants and Wendy’s. Brad lives in Albert Lea and has been there for the past 18 years. My interests include outdoor activities and spending time with my Grandchildren. I will be enrolling at the University of North Dakota in the Certified Dietary Manager program this winter. I am excited to part of the New Richland Care Center Team.
Tammy Busho – Human Resources Manager
Tammy started working for the New Richland Care Center September 2015. She lives in Geneva with her husband Jeff. They have four kids Spencer, Logan, Madison and Macoy.
Tammy is truly enjoying working here at the Care Center and with the residents. She has said that this job is a combination of all her jobs that she has had in her life and hopes this is the last job she every has before retirement.
Working at the Care Center is a privelage and taking care of the residents is a joy! She loves the staff and appreciates all the hard work it takes to make this facility great!
Lavonne Krueger – Staffing Coordinator/Medical Records
Lavonne is our Staff Coordinator and Medical Records Manager. She has worked in Nursing Homes for 26 years. She has had many different jobs including C.N.A., Front Desk Housekeeping, and Health Unit Coordinator. She is responsible the interviewing and hiring for all positions in our Nursing Department and manages the schedule for this department as well. Plus, keeps track of all the medical records for our residents. In her spare time she enjoys the Minnesota Vikings Games and spending time with her family. Lavonne and her husband have 4 grandchildren and 4 daughters.
Sandy Hart-PIPP Manager
I graduated in 1992 from SDSU with an education degree and in 2011 I received my social work degree from USD. I worked for a company where I traveled around the US and Canada, training hotel personnel for 8 different hotel brands. Before coming here, I worked for a non-profit in NW Iowa where I worked with adults who had many disabilities. I was a home leader and Quality Assurance representative for my two homes I ran. My main focus was getting my residents off antipsychotic meds using many and uniquely different interventions. My position at New Richland allows me to work with those with dementia by implementing interventions do assist with getting residents off antipsychotic meds and decrease behaviors. I am also responsible for Dementia training for the facility. Even though my focus is with those with dementia, I have also worked with others in starting new programs like a reading group and choir. During my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, my 6 children, and my 15 grandchildren. I also like to travel and see new places; especially places where I can hike.
